Qui WIP by Flying-Fox Qui WIP by Flying-Fox
Testing all this headgear out! I need to fix a few things. The horns are attached to a headband underneath the wig, and it was sliding back so I had to hold the wig on with my other hand. Hopefully securing the headband before putting on the wig overtop will prevent that next time! It was also a little lopsided because I misjudged where to put the headband the first time, but here is the general look! I also need to slick down the hair on either side so they cover my real ears better.

Looking great! And I am stealing that stitch cover! just forewarning.
Questions so I may implement the same strategy on mine. How exactly does the headband sit underneath the wig and attach to the horns on the outside? And how will you secure the headband down before putting wig on? Are the ears attached to the wig? All in all.....maybe it's just easier I come to visit someday and you could show me in person :P

Do you have your horns? I drilled a hole in the bottom of each, then inserted and glued coupling nut...things. From Lowes. Attached to the headband are the "male" elevator bolts, also from home depot. They are e6000'd onto the headband. You'll have to rip a bit of the wig mesh to get them through, then the horns screw in ontop. I hope that makes sense. I haven't figured out how to secure, I'm hoping a load of bobby pins will be enough.

The ears are just sewn onto the wig :) Feel free to come over!

I would suggest you arrange the wig so the bases of the antlers are less visible - the gnarled edges of horns are lovely to look at and I can understand wanting them to be on view but at the moment they do look like they are glued/resting on the hair rather than sprouting up through it.
